Akasa Air Launches Daily Direct Flights to Abu Dhabi from Bengaluru and Ahmedabad

Bengaluru: Akasa Air has announced the launch of daily direct flights connecting Abu Dhabi with Bengaluru and Ahmedabad under a codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways. This expansion aims to enhance travel between India and the UAE, strengthening connectivity for passengers.

The inaugural flight from Bengaluru is scheduled to depart from Kempegowda International Airport at 10:00 AM IST on March 1, arriving at Zayed International Airport, Abu Dhabi, at 12:35 PM AST.

Similarly, the first flight from Ahmedabad will take off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 10:45 PM IST on March 1, reaching Abu Dhabi at 1:00 AM AST on March 2, the airline confirmed.

This expansion complements Akasa Air’s existing daily Mumbai-Abu Dhabi service, which began in July 2024. With these new additions, the airline now operates 21 weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and three major Indian cities.

Strengthening Global Connectivity

Neelu Khatri, Co-Founder and SVP International, Akasa Air, expressed excitement about the new routes, emphasizing their significance in boosting international travel.

"We are thrilled to introduce this new international route in collaboration with Etihad Airways, further strengthening our presence in the UAE—one of the most crucial global aviation corridors. This partnership opens up new opportunities for tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between India and the UAE," Khatri stated.

He further added that the launch marks Akasa’s first international operations from Bengaluru and expands its global connectivity from Ahmedabad.
